Harrington maintains lead, Tiger closes in

August 09, 2009
Three-time Major winner Padraig Harrington remains the man to beat at the 2009 edition of the WGC (World Golf Championship) Bridgestone Invitational after a solid third round 67 on Saturday allowed him to end the penultimate days play at 10-under-par total, for a three shot lead over the chasing pack. However the plucky Irishman will need all his composure and cunning to stay in front in Ohio, with 14-time Major winner and world number one Tiger Woods alone in second at seven-under after an impressive third round 65 - and seemingly also in inspired form. Jerry Kelly will begin the final round two shots further back in third, with Miguel Jimenez, Kenny Perry, Lucas Glover and recently crowned British Open champion Stewart Cink just some of the players in a congested tie for fourth.
