Federer, Nadal to renew rivalry in Canada

August 08, 2009
Roger Federer will return to action at the ATP Rogers Cup in Montreal (10-16 August) after becoming a father. Federer's wife Mirka gave birth to twin girls in July, soon after his historic 15th Grand Slam victory at Wimbledon. Federer, who turns 28 on 8 August, won the Canadian event, which alternates between Montreal and Toronto with a WTA event, in 2004 and 2006. As Fed turns 28, his only focus should be Grand Slams. The Rogers Cup, part of the Masters 1000 series, will also see the return of world number two and defending champion Rafael Nadal after his length lay-off with knee problems. The Spaniard has been off the tour since being upset by Robin Soderling in the fourth round at the French Open in May. It was his first defeat at Roland Garros where he had been the champion for four successive years.
